Chilean native cats
In Chile there are 5 native cats: the Guiña, the Colo-colo cat, the Andean cat, the cat Geoffroy and the Puma.
These felinds live in different parts of the Chilean territory, from the sea level to the limit of vegetation.
Some of these felines have not been investigated since their habits have prevented it, this is the case of the Guiña (leopardus guigna) and the Andean cat (Leopardus jacobita), they prefers the places with great coverage of vegetation and distant to the presence of the man, which makes it very difficult to monitor their reproductive habits, methods of hunting, etc.
Another iconic feline of Chile is the Puma, the Puma is the second largest feline of all America, after the jaguar, its state of conservation is smaller since the Chilean government has worried about it.
It is necessary to protect our felines and their environment as they are part of our heritage.
