Today I will talk about my favorite tree: The Mitén.
In the south this tree is very common, it is generally occupied to delimitate fields or rural sites.
Its scientific name is Maytenus boaria and belongs to the family Celastraceae or of the celastráceas. Is an evergreen, elegant-looking tree that reaches 20 meters in height. It has thin, hanging branches, and a broad, rounded, leafy glass, it is perfect for those days when it is sunny because it gives a lot of shade.
Of its seed can extract oil, and this oil is very rich in vitamins, can be used for cooking or for the cosmetic industry.
The maiten is a tree that grows very close to the waterways, and is very typical of southern Chile. Maybe that's why I like it so much, because it reminds me of my childhood, and every afternoon we went out to look for adventures in the woods.
If there was a garden in Santiago, he would certainly plant a Maitén.
